Christian Aid Week

  • Posted On: 13/05/2018 - 19/05/2018

Jesus calls us to love our neighbours. To build God’s Kingdom, we must help our neighbours who desperately need us, and we must not delay. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. This makes it even harder for Haitians to cope with the earthquakes, storms and hurricanes that hit them. Vilia lost her home and her mother when an earthquake hit Haiti in 2010. In 2016, Hurricane Matthew swept Vilia’s crops and livestock away. Christian Aid’s partner KORAL gave Vilia a water filter and seeds helping her to rebuild her farm. A water filter that will last more than 10 years costs just £42.  Please give generously and consider signing the Gift Aid declaration which is attached to the red envelope.

Please join us for

  • An Ecumenical Service on Thursday10th May at 7.30pm at Gunnerside Methodist Church
  • Cake Stall on Reeth Green - Friday 18th May

We look forward to seeing you and receiving your support.  Donations of cakes and produce are especially welcome.  Please telephone Pauline or Susan if you would like a lift to the service, if you need cakes/produce collecting or if you would like to help in the House to House Collection: Pauline 886790 or Susan 884366.

Very many thanks in anticipation,

Pauline Oldershaw- Secretary – Upper Swaledale & Arkengarthdale Christian Aid Committee
