Good Friday Walk 2013
It was a very snowy Holy Week in Swaledale, with huge snowdrifts on the exposed hillsides. However, a group of keen and experienced walkers took part in the Good Friday Walk, with a slightly altered route to avoid some of the deepest snow. They were joined by others for the services in the churches along the way. The walk ended with a powerful drama presentation at Grinton Church of the Iona Community play, Voices from the Crowd, brought to us by a local Methodist group who had performed it in the open air in Leyburn earlier in the day.
We want to record our thanks to them and to Paul Denning and others from the Swaledale Mountain Rescue team who helped to lead the walk and were on hand during the day.
Easter is three weeks later next year. Good Friday falls on 18 April 2014 - come and join us, as we are hoping for a walk in sunshine, with lambs and daffodils to enjoy!
